In order for Secc’s connectors to continually provide a zero-spill dry seal on disconnection, high performance sealing materials that form an airtight seal on either side of the connector are required. Secc worked with Precision Polymer Engineering Ltd to develop a superior sealing solution that is capable of withstanding low temperatures, high pressures and demanding chemical media.

Regulations in the oil and gas exploration and extraction market require all elastomer seals to have the appropriate accreditation. PPE’s Perlast® ICE G90LT was specifically developed to meet all of the regulatory specifications for the NORSOK M710. The seals were also qualified in accordance with API 6A 17D PSL3G PR2; a very stringent qualification program where Secc’s connectors are taken to their maximum capabilities inclusive of extensive cycle testing at maximum working parameters.
