Steven Higgins BSc (Hons)
Managing Director

Steve leads SECC Oil and Gas with innovation and growth at the forefront. He is responsible for the performance of the business and driving new product development.

He has a degree in Automotive engineering and over a decade experience working within Marine, Energy and Defence sectors. Specialising in a variety of Subsea/top-side Valves, Marine Couplings and Release systems.

He is a former Research & Development Manager within the Midstream market. He has a technical and commercial track record of developing and launching Release Couplings into the Oil and Gas market.

Steve’s passion for engineering , innovation and people, enables him to drive SECC Oil and Gas into the next phase.

 

Dr Paul Armitage
Director - Business Development

Paul has a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering and has held senior commercial and engineering roles in the oilfield chemistry and specialty chemical industries.

Paul’s role is to drive the growth of the business.

In addition to focusing on SECC’s current clients and its oil and gas business, he will propel SECC’s core technology and new products into complimentary markets.

Matthew Readman
Technical Director

A respected authority in Applied Mechanics and Structures, Matt is responsible for leading the development of SECC’s portfolio of technical IP, including the self-sealing, pressure-balanced couplings which are at the core of our unique and ground-breaking connector technologies.

He was formerly a senior technical specialist at the prestigious University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) – which was amalgamated in the University of Manchester in 2004 – where he was recognised for his pioneering work in the field of tension.

Stuart Steen
Operations Manager

Stuart leads the delivery of customer projects from enquiry to supply and     installation, with a focus on product and service quality.

His vast process management knowledge comes from a lengthy career in the oil and gas, petrochemical and bespoke machine-building industries.

Stuart’s responsibilities extend to ensuring Health & Safety is at the top of our agenda while maintaining our DNV ISO:9001 accreditation and continual improvements programme.
