Subsea transfer: Seismic protection for subsea flowlines

The Four-inch MAXFLOW HMHB (Hot Make Hot Break) protects flowlines running from Lubina Well to the Casablanca offshore oil Platform located in Mediterranean sea, at 45 km from the coast of Tarragona in the east of Spain. This HMHB was adapted to a 45° elbow with a swept neck to allow for a horizontal installation.

The Connector is positioned in the Midline position on 4.5-inch flowlines located on the seabed at 2400 meters. The pressure balanced Coupling allowed for high pressure fluid transfer from well to platform whilst offering unrivalled break loads.

With the Transition Protection disengaged (See Orange Hoop) after installation the Coupling will activate under the lowest of axial forces. Autonomously releasing and isolating the hoses.

The Secc Coupling was installed on this unique system to protect subsea infrastructure during seismic events.
